Pooping at 75 miles per hour

About 4 weeks ago we made a decision to escape the CA fires and relocate (temporarily) to Colorado. Little did we know there would just be more fires here. LE SIGH. Anyway, we also made the BIG choice to bring our Gorbash wit us. Mind you, Gorbash shits himself every time we take him to the vet, and thats about 7 min drive….

So, this was not a decision we made lightly!

I bought him the luxury Cadillac of cat carries. Spent about 300 bucks on food and treats, kitty sedatives (liquid and pills), and a harness and we took off on our 2 day drive to Colorado.

Gorbash had very strong opinions for the first 6 hours of the drive. Loud opinions. Mind you, I had put all the drugs in his kitty face hole, but he was unfazed, to say the very least. He sang us the song of his people - discography.

We drove and sang along with him…cuz when you can’t beat um, you party with em. By the evening we let him out of his mansion to explore the car and he was just adorable. Got right up on the dash like a true adventure kitteh! He even slept and purred in my lap for about the lat 2 hours. That concert really wore him out!

Our first 10 hour day ended in Salt Lake City. I mean, I get why they Mormons stopped there, it’s gorgeous, but for us it was just a thick, mocking, blanket of smoke. You couldn’t even see the mountains. The irony of this trip is not lost on my btw…but I digress…

Gorbash got to spend his very fist night in a hotel (at least to my knowledge, he does get around) which he spent being a spaz and picking at the furniture (no damage, promise Marriott). I don’t think we got more than 3 hours of actual rest, but the bed was super comfy!

Day 2 - Cat back in the car. Bank on the road.

**Side note - don’t speed through Wyoming** The speed limit goes from 75 to 80 to 75 on a stretch of desolate highway about 100 miles long and you will miss that change back to 75. They are serious about lingering in your open window without a mask saying “you don’t need those things in these parts” - mister slow talking cop. And again I digress…

Day 2 pt. 2

Gorbash is a master of the highway and the car. He only yowls once at us abut 2 hours into the drive. Matt thinks…maybe he need to use the litter box? So, he opens up his penthouse carrier, and Gorbash saunters gracefully into his litter box and takes a huge stinky poo, AT 75 MILES PER HOUR!!

Look…I don’t have kids so it’s hard for me to imagine how it feels when they finally master potty training or whatever, but I HAD A MOMENT OF PURE PROUD CAT MAMA.

The end.

PS. Gorbash is meow kicking it with my mom in Ft. Collins while we go explore some more of CO. He misses you all.

In memory, of Mr. Cat. Rest in rainbows, Sir.

Gorbash’s Gotcha Day

Gorbash stories

Gorbash was a surprise kitteh.

Hoomans Matt and Fallon went to adopt him in the second week of December of 2013 under a vail of secrecy. They knew that Hooman Sophia really missed having a cat in her life, and they wanted to make her feel whole again. They picked Gorbash (who’s adoptive name was Mellon) because of his rambunctious sprit and friendly nature. On December 21st, 2013 they planned what seemed to Sophia to be a normal ol’ game night with friends…little did she know…

Upon arriving to the game night Sophia needed to use the restroom, as hoomans often do, and found a tiny orange kitten locked away in the shower. She flipped out, because she was going to get to meet a new kitteh, all the while not realizing that the kitten was meant for her.

She ran out of the restroom and exclaimed, “OH MY GOD, THERE IS A KITTEH IN HERE, HE’S SO CUTE, WHAT IS HIS NAME, CAN I HOLD HIM PLEASE AND THANK YOU!?”

The Hoomans Matt and Fallon realized that this was the moment…

And as the smol kitteh was handed to Sophia she excitedly asked, “who’s tiny smooshy is this??”

And the Hoomans Matt and Fallon said, “YOURS! Surprise!”

Hooman Sophia was instantly all wet in the face from joy, and proclaimed immediately that this kitteh would be know as GORBASH SOLSTICE MILLS! The middle name because he was given on the solstice.

And they all lived happily ever after. The end.
